I have been silent for almost a year now but I look forward to sharing some of what I have been up to. In Cirque du Soleil’s show KURIOS, I have toured throughout the US and Canada this whole year and performed daily, around 330 shows, each in front of around 2.500 people.
In the role of Bella Donna, I played percussion and the character and in the role of the singer I sang the show. It took me almost this whole year to get used to this life style and besides performing, I didn’t get to do much more solo performing. I did stay creative and wrote and practiced during my breaks. And….
I was awaiting and anticipating the mix of my Solo Record. The production took way longer than expected and for all of you who have supported me in my campaign to raise money for the recording, I do apologize for the awfully long wait.
Now we are in the process of finding a label and I hope to get a release date soon, or at least to have a date that I can pinpoint in the near future. Thank you for your patience!
In the meantime I had the pleasure of meeting some fancy and humble superstars that watched our show, like Steven Tyler.
During the shows, when I was waiting for my cues, I practiced and I studied Logic Pro X, a digital audio workstation that is used for recording and producing music.
All around I’ve learned much about rhythm, percussion, singing, acting and endurance. Living in the isolated bubble that is a traveling circus has been as inspiring and unique as much as a challenge and hardship. I am grateful for each day of this lifestyle that I have chosen, for now.
And my KURIOS journey continues in 2018.
I am moving to Japan next month and am awaiting a whole new adventure over there.
A more rigorous schedule with 10 shows each week will definitely test my boundaries and capacity.
Encountering a very new and very different culture will blow my mind and continue to expand my world view.
I hope to be able to share my solo album with you very soon and as much as time will allow me, I will continue to create and share my music via the world wide web. Please have a peaceful holiday season and may some of your dreams manifest in 2018!
Thank you for your patience, love and endless support!
