I wrote this song while living in the concrete jungle of NYC for my collection of home plants that kept me grounded and sane and I further extended my song to the love, appreciation and protection of mother nature and its endless gifts. When observing nature and wild animals we can learn how to live in a healthy and sustainable way in connection to nature and to one another. Instead always taking and using the earth, we need to start sharing, borrowing and rebuilding it.
lyrics
Share Water
When you’re reaching out your arms to
touch the sun rays by my window
I am watching your body’s shadow dance
When you’re swaying your hands quietly
to touch the wind sneaking through my window
I can see the life you carry inside
I want to share my water with you
I want to share my water with you
When I’m waking up to a new dream,
I look outside of my window
Do you see the same things that I see?
When I take my first sip of water
and open up my window
Do you feel the thirst and the love I do?
I want to share my water with you
I want to share my water with you
Oh will you show me to love and care for you In a nourishing way
I want to learn how to watch and listen to all that you have to say
When I’m asleep you embrace me and feed me with all the air that you made
All that you need is the sun, some water and a love that won’t fade
I want to share my water with you
I want to share my water with you
